Устройство с приложением SmartGlass также может являться дополнительным экраном к телевизору, к которому подключена приставка.

Приложение устроено таким образом, что при запуске контента на экране мобильное устройство выводит сопутствующие материалы. Причем это может быть не только видеоигра, но и фильм или спортивный матч. Единственным ограничением является то, что контент должен транслироваться в рамках сервиса Xbox Live.

Вторым продуктом стал Internet Explorer для Xbox 360, который позволит открывать веб-страницы на экране телевизора. Браузер будет связан с приложением SmartGlass. С помощью приложения SmartGlass, открыв на экране телевизора браузер, пользователи смогут управлять просмотром страниц с помощью сенсорного экрана мобильного гаджета. Стандартные жесты масштабирования страницы также будут поддерживаться.

Управлять IE на Xbox 360 можно будет и с помощью голосовых команд - и это является третьим важным нововведением в рамках анонса на E3. Помимо голосового управления веб-браузером, Microsoft пообещала предоставить функцию голосового поиска Bing пользователям в новых странах, однко России среди них нет.

В Microsoft также анонсировали сервис Xbox Music, но деталей практически не представили. В компании лишь сообщили, что он будет доступен пользователям Xbox 360, устройств на Windows 8 и Windows Phone и откроет доступ к библиотеке с более 30 млн композиций.

В компании не сообщили, будет ли Xbox Music доступен владельцам устройств на сторонних платформах. Ранее была информация, что сервис будет работать на Android и iOS.

Выпустить приложение SmartGlass и открыть сервис Xbox Music планируется до конца 2012 г. Выпуск Internet Explorer для Xbox 360 запланирован на осень.
