Процессор Z2460 имеет одно вычислительное ядро Atom с тактовой частотой 1,6 ГГц, которое изготавливается по 32-нанометровому техпроцессу, 512 килобайт L2-кэша, двухканальный интерфейс оперативной памяти LPDDR2 и графическое ядро PowerVR SGX540. Как выяснили эксперты AnandTech, Medfield-смартфон лучше справляется с выводом веб-страниц и обработкой JavaScript (тесты BrowserMark и SunSpider), чем некоторые топовые устройства.

Замеры были проведены в браузере операционной системы Android версии 2.3 (Gingerbread). Эксперты пришли к выводу, что на сегодня Z2460 показывает лучший уровень производительности ЦП, хоть и имеет всего лишь одно ядро. GPU (графический процессор) не такой быстрый, как эппловский чип A5, но вполне конкурентоспособен. Обогнать эппловский чип в плане графики, вероятно, сможет Clover Trail (двухъядерная версия Medfield), который будет устанавливаться в планшеты с Windows 8 и Ice Cream Sandwich.

О планах выпустить смартфоны на процессорной платформе Atom Z2460 к этому дню заявили Lenovo и Motorola. Первым устройством на базе чипа Intel может стать смартфон K800 от Lenovo.
